Glenbard West Boys Gymnastics Comes So Close to State Title, Finishes in Second
The boys state gymnastics tournament was held over the weekend in Hinsdale.

GLEN ELLYN, IL - In the closest finish for a team championship in boys gymnastics in IHSA history, Glenbard West fell short of the state title, finishing with a score of 154.4 just behind Niles West, which had a score of 154.75, according to the Daily Herald.
Junior Timmy Le lead the team, finishing ninth in the all-around and claiming a state title in the parallel bars with a score of 8.9. He also finished in eighth in the still rings, second in the vault, and seventh in the floor exercise.

Junior Matthew Ideler finished 20th in the all-around. Other top finishers for Glenbard West include senior Paul Bonokollie who finished second in the pommel horse, junior Frankie Pham who finished third in the still rings and senior Gunnar Maddock who finished in seventh in the still rings.
“We scored our season high, so I'm obviously very proud of these guys to go out on a season high," Glenbard West coach Frank Novakowski told the Daily Herald. "I can't ask for more than that. We just came up a little short to Niles West. That's the way it works sometimes."
