Glenbard West Wins Class 7A Semifinal Against Cary-Grove

Glenbard West will now face Libertyville in the state championship.

Glenbard West football will be continuing onto the state championship game after winning against Cary-Grove in blizzard conditions Saturday.

Hilltoppers running back Sam Brodner lead the team Saturday, running the ball 50 times for 292 yards and scoring two touchdowns, according to the Chicago Tribune. Glenbard West won 21-6 in the Class 7A semifinal against Cary-Grove.

“When I woke up and looked out my bathroom window and saw 5-6 inches of snow, I definitely knew we’d be running the ball a lot,” Brodner told the Chicago Tribune.

Glenbard West (13-0) will now face Libertyville in the state championship game Saturday at Huskie Stadium in DeKalb.
