Live Music, Virtual Shows Planned For Jazz Up Glen Ellyn 2021

The July 10 jazz extravaganza will also feature performances broadcast via LED screens on Main Street and Pennsylvania Avenue.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — The sounds of live jazz will fill the air in downtown Glen Ellyn for Jazz Up Glen Ellyn 2021, which offers both in-person and virtual jazz performances July 10. The event was fully remote in 2020 due to coronavirus, but will return in a big way with two LED screens, in addition to food delivery from local restaurants for those in attendance.

Live Jazz Performances

Music lovers must purchase a ticket to attend Jazz Up Glen Ellyn's live 2021 show in person. Each ticket reserves a 10-foot by 10-foot square that can accommodate up to four people near the stage on Main Street at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue.

Those who attend in person can bring a table, chairs, food and alcoholic or nonalcoholic drinks, with setup beginning at 3 p.m. Spectators can also order food and drinks from local restaurants to be delivered directly to their viewing square.

LED screens will be set up on Main Street and Pennsylvania Avenue to feature more artists. The Main Street LED screen will showcase recorded performances in between live acts. The Pennsylvania Avenue LED screen will feature a live feed of musicians as they perform in person on the Main Street stage.

The lineup for Saturday's in-person show is:

  • 4 p.m.: Chicago Hot Six
  • 5 p.m.: Hi-Hat Second Line (on big LED screen)
  • 5:15 p.m.: Bellas Artes Faculty Combo
  • 5:45 p.m.: Reggie Thomas Quartet
  • 6 p.m. Fareed Haque Group plays The Meters
  • 7 p.m. Video tribute to jazz artists lost to COVID-19, excerpts from Yes! Mahalia
  • 7:20 p.m. Tammy McCann with Fareed Haque and Friends
