Local Eateries To Vie For Glory At Chili Cook-Off In Glen Ellyn

Nearly a dozen local restaurants will bring their best chili recipes to this charitable event.

GLEN ELLYN, IL --- Nearly a dozen Glen Ellyn restaurants have thrown their chef's hats into the ring to compete for glory and raise money for charity with their tastiest chili recipes. The 1st Annual Glen Ellyn Restaurant Chili Cook-Off for Charity will be held on Jan. 26 at Reserve 22 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Restaurants slated to compete in the chili cook-off include:

  • 2Toots Train Whistle Grill
  • A Toda Madre
  • Ellyn's Tap and Grill
  • Fire + Wine
  • Main Street Pub
  • Maize and Mash
  • McMae's on Main
  • Nobel House
  • North Side Sports Bar
  • Reserve 22
  • Shannon's Irish Pub

The victor will be whichever restaurant gets the most votes from members of the public who attend the event. Beer vendors will also be on hand to give diners additional beverage options.

In a news release, Reserve 22 Food and Beverage Director Brad Chapple said he is hopeful that the chili cook-off will become an annual event.

Where: Reserve 22 at the Village Links, Blue Heron Banquet Room, 485 Winchell Way, Glen Ellyn

How much: $15 for adults, $10 for children ages 6 to 10, no charge for children 5 and under; Tickets available via Reserve 22's website.
