Lombard Man Gets 3 Years For Using $10K In Donations Personally
Todd Olshefski, 51, pleaded guilty to using $10,000 in charity donations for lodging, car loans, insurance and other expenses.

LOMBARD, IL — A Lombard man has been sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to using charitable funds for personal use. Todd Olshefski, 51, used $10,000 in donations for lodging, auto loans, insurance and other expenses, according to the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office.
Olshefski's sentence comes after a 10-month investigation following complaints about Olshefski and his wife regarding "aggressive soliciting tactics, use of intimidation and concerns surrounding the legitimacy of the Veteran’s Christian Network (VCN), a not-for profit organization created by the Olshefskis." Priscilla Olshefski, 60, was sentenced to 180 days in the DuPage County Jail and one year of conditional discharge.
DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a statement, "Not only did Todd and Priscilla Olshefski take advantage of the generosity of DuPage County residents, they did so at the expense of Veterans. Thanks to the outstanding work of the Wheaton Police Department, we were able to put an end to this deplorable scheme and close down a so-called charity that served only the Olshefskis."
