Man Charged In Armed Robbery Spree In Lombard, Wood Dale, Addison
Police say Marquelle Williams, 38, used a gun and threatened clerks and steal cash and cigarettes.

LOMBARD, IL — A Bensenville man faces multiple armed robbery charges after police say he used a gun to steal cash and cigarettes from stores in Lombard, Wood Dale and Addison. Marquelle Williams, 38, was charged with three counts of armed robbery with a firearm four counts of being an armed habitual criminal and two counts of aggravated unlawful restraint.
On Dec. 19, Williams is accused of robbing a Lombard 7-Eleven located at 2S651 Lloyd Ave. Police say Williams came into the store around 3 a.m. with a gun that had an extended magazine. Williams is accused of telling the clerk, "do what you’re told, and you won’t get hurt." Williams is then accused of forcing the clerk to lie on the ground, hitting them twice and binding their arms with zip ties before fleeing with approximately $500 in cash and 55 packs of cigarettes.
Williams is further accused of entering the 7-Eleven on 311 E. Irving Park Rd. in Wood Dale on Jan. 7 bearing a gun with an extended magazine. According to police, Williams bought an item and then went behind the counter and demanded that the clerk open two cash registers. Williams is accused of binding the clerk's arms with zip ties and stealing $1,033 before fleeing.

On Jan. 28, police say Williams robbed a Speedway at 701 E. Lake St. in Addison. Williams is accused of going behind the register and shoving a gun into the clerk's waist while saying, "“Do you want to die? Open the drawer and give me all the money." Williams is accused of demanding that the clerk open the store's register and safe. When the clerk said they could not do so, police say Williams asked them repeatedly if they wanted to die. Police say Williams fled the store with cash and a bag full of cigarettes.
In a news release, DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said, "It is alleged that Mr. Williams’ two-month violent crime spree terrorized DuPage County residents and businesses as he went from town to town committing armed robberies. The number of resources dedicated to the apprehension of Mr. Williams sends the message that we will use every tool at our disposal to hold those who commit violent crimes, as alleged in this case, responsible for their actions."

Williams is currently being held in DuPage County Jail without bond. He is set to appear in court again on March 10.
