New Restaurant Alert: Nobel House Coming To Glen Ellyn

The restaurant is set to open in spring 2018 in the space that Soukup's Hardware occupied for more than 80 years.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — The face of downtown Glen Ellyn keeps changing and with it comes the opening of new stores and restaurants to take place of some old favorites that have now closed. In spring of 2018, Nobel House restaurant is slated to open in the now vacant space that was home to Soukup's Hardware & Appliances since the 1930s.

Nobel House already has a location in Geneva that has four stars and more than 200 reviews on yelp. The bar and restaurant will feature a similar menu when it comes to Woodridge, with a focus on eclectic pub fare and house-smoked meats to complement the bar's list of more than 80 beers (including 30 craft beers on tap).

Some standout menu items include a house-smoked philly sandwich stacked with thinly shaved ribeye and the ultra-popular brisket burnt ends. Nobel House's menu touts the burnt ends as "meat candy" and warns customers of the dish's limited availability.

On the weekend, early birds can sleep in a little and still make it in time for brunch at Nobel House. The brunch menu features drool-worthy dishes, such as shrimp and grits, breakfast-style poutine, and an omelet stuffed with brisket, smoked pork, bacon, cole slaw and cheesy cheddar sauce.

Suburban Life reports that the owners of Nobel House have their sights set on a spring 2018 grand opening, adding that an outdoor patio for alfresco dining will be part of the plan. Seems like we'll just have to keep drooling over the Nobel House menu as we eagerly await the arrival of spring.
