Rays Of Hope: With Hardship Comes Ease
We are happy to represent rays of hope because we know, as our faith teaches us, that "For indeed, with hardship (will be) ease."
The Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) Relief is honored to serve on the frontlines right here in our neighborhoods through programs including, but not limited to, Family Services, Hunger Prevention, Women's Transitional Housing, Health Clinics, Disaster Relief, Back2School Giveaways, and more. Our work is inspired by Prophet Muhammad who teaches us to look after our neighbors as if they are part of our very own families. "He is not a believer who spends the night satiated while the neighbor to his side is hungry."
2020 tested us, pushed us, challenged us, but ICNA Relief was able to conquer the trials with a balance of strength and kindness. In total, we reached more than double the individuals of 2019; over 67K locals with services worth over $2.9M. With you by our side, ICNA Relief continues to be a leading relief organization that works with local and national entities to deliver relief, opportunities, hope, and smiles to the resilient people we serve.
Surely, 2020 changed a lot for us, but our mission and drive to serve remains firm. ICNA Relief pledges to continue helping those affected by COVID-19, but the needs are significant and extend beyond the health crisis. Responding to global emergencies that force people to seek refuge on our shores is one of ICNA Relief's long-standing commitments. Beyond that, hunger is a plague we battle and will not stop until every child is well-fed and on their way to a healthy and bright future. Speaking of children, education is another leading mission we continue to pursue with our Back2School Giveaways to ensure that students are equipped for success.
Further, how can we rest when we receive phone calls of homeless women stranded in inadequate shelters, or worse, on the cold, lonely streets with no family or support system?
It is precisely because of our amazing volunteers, generous donors, and compassionate supporters that we alleviate the inadequacies and address the concerns of vulnerable, marginalized, and disenfranchised residents here in our very own backyards.
We are happy to represent rays of hope because we know, as our faith teaches us, that "For indeed, with hardship (will be) ease."
We encourage you to support our boots on the ground by attending our annual event on Saturday, March 6, virtually. You can register for FREE at icnarelief.org/chicago. We look forward to seeing you there.
