Route 53 Still Closed in Glen Ellyn: Update

GLEN ELLYN, IL — This weekend’s heavy rainfall has done more than just dampen spirits after last weekend’s sunny weather. The non-stop rainfall caused flooding that has closed route 53 at Butterfield Road in Glen Ellyn since Sunday. As of 9:30 a.m., Route 53 is still closed between IL-56 Butterfield and Park Boulevard, according to the IDOT Emergency Closure List.
