Scaled-Back Fourth Of July Celebration Planned In Glen Ellyn

The festivities will still include a Fourth of July parade and fireworks display.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Glen Ellyn plans to resume its Fourth of July festivities in 2021, but with a slightly scaled-back celebration. The event will still include a Fourth of July parade and fireworks, though other details are still pending amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Last year, Glen Ellyn's Fourth of July plans were canceled due to coronavirus.

The Fourth of July parade will be held and a fireworks display is slated, though the location of the fireworks show has yet to be determined, according to the village's event website. Currently, the fates of the Lake Ellyn Cardboard Regatta and the Freedom Four 4-Mile Run are up in the air.

Glen Ellyn's annual Food Truck Festival will not be held in 2021. On the village's website, festival organizers wrote that the DuPage County Health Department "is not issuing temporary permits for these type of events."
