Scam Alert: Glen Ellyn Library Warns Of Phishing Attempts

The scam involves a caller pretending to be from the Glen Ellyn Public Library.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — The Glen Ellyn Public Library is warning patrons about a recent phishing scam in which the callers pretend to be library staff.

Those targeted by the scam report getting a phone call from the number 630-790-6637. The caller offers a gift card and asks patrons to download an app called QuickStop. The Glen Ellyn Public Library recently posted on social media to confirm that they are not making these calls.

Glen Ellyn Police Department Deputy Chief Kurt Vavra told Patch the police department has not yet had any reports of the aforementioned scam.
