Slight Decrease In New Coronavirus Cases In Glen Ellyn
Since March, Glen Ellyn has seen 2,723 coronavirus cases, according to DuPage County Health Department.
GLEN ELLYN, IL —In Glen Ellyn, the number of coronavirus cases has increased by 23 cases in the past week, according to information from the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD). The numbers reflect a slight decrease from the previous week, in which Glen Ellyn saw 34 new coronavirus cases.
On Feb. 16, the village had reported 2,700 total cases of the new coronavirus. Those numbers had increased to 2,723 as of Feb. 23.

Glen Ellyn has had 36 coronavirus-related deaths since March. Wheaton has had 58 confirmed deaths since the county started tracking its coronavirus numbers, DCHD data shows.
DuPage County recently topped 76,000 coronavirus cases and reported its first case of coronavirus variant B.1.17, which was first detected in the United Kingdom. The risk of transmission in DuPage County is currently classified as "substantial."
