At the June 7 Special Village Board meeting, the Village Board approved the appointment of Bill Payne to fill the vacant Trustee position, with a term ending in 2023. The vacancy was in place due to President Senak moving from the position of Trustee into the Village President role. Trustee Payne has been a resident of Glen Ellyn for over 32 years with his wife Nancy and three adult children. He currently serves as the Executive Director of Science and Technology at the University of Chicago. Trustee Payne received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Illinois Science and Technology Coalition, as well as on the Executive Advisory Board for Purdue University’s Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.
