Weekly New Coronavirus Cases Stay Steady In Glen Ellyn

Since March 2020, Glen Ellyn has seen 3,040 confirmed coronavirus cases, according to DuPage County Health Department.

GLEN ELLYN, IL —In Glen Ellyn, the number of coronavirus cases has increased by 70 cases in the past six days, according to information from the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD). The numbers reflect a slight increase over the previous week, in which Glen Ellyn saw 67 new coronavirus cases.

On April 7, the village had reported 2,970 total cases of the new coronavirus. Those numbers had increased to 3,040 as of April 13, reflecting an overall increase of 2.3 percent. The previous week's increase was also 2.3 percent.

DCHD recently began sharing the number of probable coronavirus cases in each municipality. In Glen Ellyn, there have been 201 probable coronavirus cases. Including probable cases, the total coronavirus case count for Glen Ellyn is at 3,241.

As of April 7, there had been 4,231 cases reported in Wheaton. The total number of cases reported in Wheaton as of April 13 was 4,325. This reflects an overall increase of 2.2 percent. The previous week's increase was just over 2.4 percent.

In Wheaton, there have been 269 probable coronavirus cases since March 2020, according to county health records. With probable cases included, the total case count for Wheaton is 4,594.

Wheaton has had 59 confirmed coronavirus deaths and one probable coronavirus death since the county started tracking its coronavirus numbers, DCHD data shows.

The risk of transmission in DuPage County is currently classified as "substantial."
