You Might See Emergency Vehicles at Glenbard Schools Tuesday

As required by a new state law, teachers will learn what to do if faced with a shooter in the school.

While Glenbard students are enjoying their two days off next week, teachers will be conducting violent intruder drills at all four schools.

Violent intruder training is the topic for the Tuesday, Jan. 21, districtwide institute day. These drills are an important part of Glenbard’s crisis planning and comply with a new state law that requires schools to develop and conduct an active shooter drill.

Glenbard District 87 has strong relationships with local law enforcement agencies and is partnering with these emergency responders to conduct the drills. Students will not be present during the drills.

The drills will be conducted during the morning, and it is likely that several emergency responder vehicles will be seen at each Glenbard high school on Jan. 21.
