Glenview Listed as One of Safest Places to Live in IL

Did you move to Glenview in part because it’s a safe place to live?

If so, you made a good decision, according to the real estate blog Movoto. The site has listed the 10 safest places to live in Illinois. Glenview ranks No. 8.

The site points to the murder rate of 0 in Glenview in 2012 and a low property crime rate. Overall, the site says Glenview residents have a 1 in 87 chance of being the victim of a crime.

The site took 2012 crime date from the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report and calculated the crime rates per 100,000 residents, weighing violent crimes and property crimes more heavily than other crimes.

Homer Glen topped the list. Buffalo Grove, the closest community to Glenview, is No. 2.
