20-Year-Old Arrested for Attempting to Deliver Pot

The information below comes from the Highland Park Police Department.

Possession of cannabis

June 4: Steven Hanrahan, 21, of the 5800 block of Castlewood Trail, McHenry was cited administratively with possession of cannabis and Zachary Nickel, 19, of the 500 block of Tulip Circle, Island Lake was cited administratively for consumption of alcohol by a minor being stopped by police near the intersection of Half Day Road and Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Hanrahan and Nickel are both expected in administrative court at City Hall, 1707 St. Johns Avenue, Highland Park on July 3, 2013 at 1:30pm.

June 8: Josiah Kuhn, 20, of the 1900 block of Berkeley Road, Highland Park was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to deliver after police responded to a report of possible drug activity and backpacks being exchanged between two vehicles in the 300 block of Barberry Road, Highland Park.  Kuhn was transported to bond court at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois pending court date. 

Driving while license revoked

June 6: Fidel Flores-Martinez, 28, of the 1700 block of McGovern Avenue, Highland Park was arrested and charged with driving while license revoked and no valid registration after being stopped by police in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Flores-Martinez was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of June 26, 2013 at 301 Greenleaf Street, Park City, Illinois. 

Driving under the influence

June 8: Jose Torres, 28, of the 0-100 block of North Jackson Street, Waukegan was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, uninsured motor vehicle, no valid drivers license and speeding after police responded to a driving complaint and stopped Torres in the 2600 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Torres was released on a personal recognizance bond with a court date of July 26, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois. 

June 8: Daniel Spears, Jr., 26, of the 100 block of Hiawatha Trail, Highland Park was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and possession of cannabis after police responded to a report of a subject slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle in the 2500 block of Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park.  Spears, Jr. was released on a cash bond with a court date of June 28, 2013 at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, Illinois.
