3 Arrested for DUI in Highland Park

The drivers' ages range from 24-31 and the arrests happened in the middle of the night and the middle of the afternoon.

The following information is from the Highland Park Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

DUI

Charles Nathan, 24, of the 600 block of Sheridan Road in Highwood, was charged with driving under the influence, open transportation of alcohol, uninsured motor vehicle, failure to signal lane change and no rear registration lamp illuminated after being stopped by police near Green Bay Road and Chicago Avenue at 4 a.m. Sept. 9. He was released on a personal recognizance bond with an Oct. 17 court date.

Abner Solis-Reyes, 25, of the 300 block of Walker Avenue in Highland Park, was charged with driving under the influence, uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage, driving without lights when required and no valid drivers license after being stopped by police near Walker Avenue and Lauretta Place at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 11. He was released on a personal recognizance bond with an Oct. 17 court date.

Jesus Sanchez-Gonzalez, 31, of the 600 block of Walnut Street in Highland Park, was charged with driving under the influence, no valid drivers license and two brake lights required after police stopped him in the 2600 block of Skokie Valley Road at 3:30 a.m. Sept. 14. He was released on a personal recognizance bond with an Oct. 17 court date.

Driving with a suspended license

Alina Vandestaan, 43, of the 3000 block of Lexington Lane West in Highland Park, was charged with driving while license suspended, no valid registration and disobeying a stop sign after being stopped by police near Trail Way and Half Day Road at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 8. She was released on a personal recognizance bond with a Sept. 24 court date.

Rene Flores, 44, of the 500 block of Allanson Road in Mundelein, was charged with driving while license suspended and impeding the flow of traffic after being stopped by police near Skokie Valley Road and Park Avenue West at 4 a.m. Sept. 13. Flores was released on bond with an Oct. 8 court date.

Lauren Strother, 24, of the 1500 block of S. 8th Street in Maywood, was charged with driving while license suspended, uninsured motor vehicle and disobeying a traffic signal after being stopped by police near Sunset Road and Central Avenue at 8 p.m. Sept. 11. Strother was released on a personal recognizance bond with an Oct. 22 court date.
