Adopt-a-Beach Events Are September 19 in Highland Park

The public is invited to join teams of volunteers at Rosewood, Ravine Drive and Park Avenue beaches.

Volunteers will meet at three Highland Park beaches on Saturday, September 19 for Adopt-a-Beach, a regional effort between the Park District of Highland Park and the Alliance for the Great Lakes.

The clean-up at Ravine Drive Beach and the Park Avenue Boating Beach will begin at 9 a.m. and teams of volunteers will begin at Rosewood Beach a half hour later.

“We are especially pleased that volunteers from the North Shore Yacht Club have again formed an Adopt-a-Beach team to promote clean water at the Park Avenue location,” said Rebecca Grill, natural areas manager at the Park District of Highland Park. “This is such a great way to give back to the Lakefront that we have enjoyed all summer long.”
