Would you like to be in an art show? Amdur Productions' Call for Artists is Happening Now! (Amdur Productions - Highland Park, Illinois )

Art festival production company, Amdur Productions, announces its annual call for artists for its 2021 art festival season. Amdur Productions is known for producing many of the Midwest’s most respected and popular juried art festivals and encourages artists to apply online for its 2021 Art Festival season, comprising 21 individual art festivals. Shows run weekly from May through September and give artists the chance to show and sell their work directly to the public.

Covid protocols were created and used in 2020 and can be implemented going forward if needed. During the summer of 2020, Amdur Productions created special Art Walks adhering to strict COVID-19 protocols, allowing for the safest events possible. Required face coverings for all, advance guest reservations, temperature checks at the entrance, unidirectional walking for guests, increased booth spacing, and hand sanitizer stations were just a few of the requirements. Amdur Productions successfully and safely produced seven of these Art Walks, which provided desperately needed income for many artists.

Amdur Productions hopes that science and technology come together to bring more normalcy to summer of 2021 for all. While they are planning a return to a standard season of festivals, they are ready, willing and able to transition to modified layouts and events as they did in 2020. In the event that a festival must be cancelled, postponed or need a date change, they will refund paid booth fees, less a $10 handling fee per show, if requested by the artist.

In addition to its traditional “Call for Artists” from coast to coast, Amdur Productions will roll out an Emerging Artist Program in 2021. This program is designed for artists who are brand new to outdoor art festivals and also for those who have been in fewer than three outdoor art shows. With this new division, Amdur aims to both mentor and encourage new artists as they grow their businesses at outdoor art festivals so that they can succeed as a new generation of independent artists, selling directly to the public. In this new program, artists pay only a portion of a typical booth fee and that fee also includes a rental tent and additional support.

“Over the years, outdoor art festivals have launched the careers of many incredibly successful artists, some of whom have become international brands,” said Amy Amdur, President of the Highland Park based Amdur Productions. “Providing a platform to help incubate new talent and guide artists as they learn the business side of art is a real passion for me and my team. We are delighted to launch this new Emerging Artist Program and look forward to introducing festival attendees to the fresh work of these new artists.”
