Andrés Tapia Launches Campaign for Highland Park City Council
Consolidated Election is April 6, 2021

Andrés Tapia has launched his campaign for Highland Park City Councilman. Tapia filed his petitions for candidacy with nearly three times the required signatures, demonstrating a broad base of community support. A senior partner at the global consulting firm Korn Ferry, and longtime Highland Park resident and community leader, Tapia currently serves as a Commissioner on the Highland Park Housing Commission and as a member of the Executive Committee on the Ravinia Festival Board of Trustees. Tapia's work experience as a global diversity strategist, his commitment to the local community, and his vision of a thriving and welcoming Highland Park for all make him the ideal candidate. Tapia's experience provides him with a compassionate and tactical perspective on the needs of a diverse community fighting through a pandemic while striving for economic recovery.
“While so much attention has been put on the national electoral offices, so many, many vital decisions get made at the local level. Our city leadership will need to look beyond current challenges, and anticipate what our post-Covid world will look like for Highland Park. I look forward to promoting strategic and pragmatic ideas to make Highland Park even more welcoming and thriving for all,” says Tapia.
Tapia has extensive experience as an executive as Senior Partner at the global management consulting firm Korn Ferry (following successful stints at Andersen Consulting, CSC, and Hewitt Associates). At Korn Ferry Tapia is the firm’s Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Strategist working with FORTUNE 500 companies and their executive teams on broad enterprise strategies on optimizing diversity to create greater inclusion and a sense of belonging that then yields positive and sustainable business results. Tapia is also a successful author having written three groundbreaking books: The Inclusion Paradox: The Obama Era and the Transformation of Global Diversity, Auténtico: The Definitive Guide to Latino Career Success (co-authored), and the just released, The 5 Disciplines of Inclusive Leaders: Unleashing the Power of All of Us (co-authored).
