HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.

INCIDENTS

THEFT
Someone stole a piece of clothing worth $68 from inside the Equinox Highland Park, 799 Central Ave., prior to about 12:30 p.m. March 4.

HOME BURGLARY
Someone burglarized a home in the 1300 block of McDaniel Avenue during the early evening hours of March 6, stealing jewelry from inside.

VANDALISM
Graffitti was discovered on the bike path between Highland Park High School and Bloom Street in the 400 block of Vine Avenue.

  • Someone stole a headphones worth $289 from the Target, 2099 Skokie Valley Road, arund 4:45 p.m. on March 2.
  • Someone stole beauty products worth about $30 from the Target, 2099 Skokie Valley Road, prior to 2 p.m. on March 11.
  • A couple stole two iPhones from a display counter at the AT&T store, 59 Skokie Valley Road, prior to 5:30 p.m. on March 12.
  • Someone stole trading cards with undisclosed value from the Target, 2099 Skokie Valley Road, prior to about 4:30 p.m. on March 13.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

George Coin, 27, of the 6500 block of North Greenview Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 3:45 p.m. on March 2 and charged with possession of 400 to 900 grams of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and possession of 400 to 900 grams of methamphetamine following an investigation into a call of a disturbance at Highland Park Hospital around 5 a.m. on Feb. 28. Staff found the drugs in his bag after reporting Coin's unusual mannerisms.

Deonte Lawal, 20, of the 300 block of Walker Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested around 10 p.m. on March 6 and charged with misdemeanor possession of between 30 and 100 grams of cannabis following a traffic stop in the 300 block of Walker Avenue.

Nicholas Zaworski, 26, of the 1800 block of North Lewis Avenue, Waukegan, was arrested around 4:30 a.m. on March 7 and charged with felony driving with a suspended or revoked license following a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road. He was also issued citations for improper lane usage, no license plate and no valid registration.

Elvis Castillo, 38, of the 3000 block of North Central Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 12:30 a.m. on March 9 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop at the intersection of the Edens Expressway and Clavey Road.

Robert Nault, 29, of the first block of Prairie Avenue, Highwood, was arrested around 7:15 p.m. on March 11 and charged with driving under the influence of drugs or a combination of substances after police were called to a driving complaint in the 1400 block of Lincoln Place. He was also issued an improper lane usage citation.

Jorge Ramirez, 29, of the 4600 block of South Avers Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 11:30 p.m. on March 14 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater and driving with a suspended or revoked license following a traffic stop at the intersection of Route 41 and Old Elm Road. He was also issued citations for illegal transportation of an open container of alcohol and operating a vehicle with expired registration.

Simon Sanchez-Reyes, 55, of the 200 block of Burchell Avenue, Highwood, was arrested around 2:30 a.m. on March 15 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater following a traffic stop at the intersection of Skokie Valley and Lake Cook roads. He was also issued citations for speeding and improper lane usage.

Jordan Green, 23, of the 5800 block of 21st Avenue in Kenosha, Wisconsin, was arrested on an in-state warrant issued for failure to appear in Lake County court in connection with a previous DUI arrest in Highland Park. after she requested record from the Highland Park Police Department.

Demiah Dicke, 20, of the 800 block of W. Johns Manville Place, Waukegan, was arrested around 2:45 a.m. on March 14 and charged with driving without a valid driver's license, violation of an order of protection and an outstanding warrant following a traffic stop at the intersection of Skokie Valley and Clavey roads. He was also issued an unlawful use of cannabis citation.
