Buyer Interested in Heun-Designed Lakefront Mansion
The Highland Park home originally built for Civic Opera star Mary Garden was foreclosed at $2.99 million.

Bank of America is in negotiations with a buyer for a recently seized 1919-Highland Park mansion originally built as a romantic getaway for Chicago Civic Opera star Mary Garden.
Listing agent Grace Przybysz of Chicago Area Realty confirmed the negotiations for the South Deere Park Drive property designed by Arthur Heun, according to Crain’s Chicago, but would not provide further details.
The 22-room home was foreclosed in January from owners Mike Nasatir and his wife, Robin and had been put it up for auction, with an asking price of $2.99 million. It was recently pulled from auction, however. Nasatir previously said he bought the home in 1991 for $2 million and had spent about $4 million in renovation.
