Celebrate Highwood Hosts Second Pop-Up Drive-In Movie Nights
Support local businesses and Celebrate Highwood!

With the kick-off Drive In Movie on July 18 a sold-out success, Celebrate Highwood is happy to host its second pop-up drive-in movie night on Saturday August 15 in an effort to raise money for their operating fund as the 501(c)(3) organization looks forward to a renewed 2021 season.
“We are pivoting from our originally scheduled events to accommodate the current climate and in order for Celebrate Highwood to come back stronger than ever in 2021, funding is required to make it all possible,” says Michael Goldstein, president of Celebrate Highwood. “We know our community will love the vintage vibe a drive-in movie will bring to Highwood, and it’s a great way for everyone to get out in a safe social setting to support Celebrate Highwood and each other!”
The movies will be held on Saturday August 15 in the Starbucks parking lot off Old Elm Road. Space is limited to the first 40 vehicles and will be allowed into the lot from the Old Elm Road entrance only, beginning at 7 p.m., with the movies beginning at 8:30 pm. Tickets for must be pre-purchased on Eventbrite at a cost of $40/vehicle, no walk-ins allowed.

Attendees are encouraged to support local Highwood businesses and curbside pick-up food, snacks and desserts to enjoy in their cars while watching the movies. Additionally, all proceeds from ticket sales benefit Celebrate Highwood, a non-profit public charity that presents the Celebrate Highwood Series of Family Friendly Festivals and Events.
· Daddy’s Home, Saturday, August 15 is a 2015 American comedy film about a mild-mannered stepfather (Will Ferrell) who vies for the attention of his wife's (Linda Cardellini) children when their biological father (Mark Wahlberg) returns.

In order to manage safety guidelines, only pre-paid cars will be allowed in. Vehicles must enter off Old Elm Road and will be directed to a socially distanced parking space. Celebrate Highwood officials will be onsite to ensure all social distance regulations are adhered to.
These first-of-a-kind Celebrate Highwood pop-up events are sponsored by M. Brad Slavin Farmers Insurance Agency, Ben Cohen Guaranteed Rate, 28 Mile Distilling Company, Baird & Warner-Highland Park, Ravinia Farmers Market and Highland Park Bank & Trust/Bank of Highwood Fort Sheridan. Additionally, Celebrate Highwood plans to launch a Highwood Strong crowd funding campaign to further support community-wide initiatives. More to come!
