Cheapest Gas In Highland Park: Mobil, Thorntons Win

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — Three gas stations tie for the cheapest prices in town in Highland Park on Dec. 6, according to fuel price tracking website GasBuddy.com. At $2.35, two Mobil stations and Thorntons edged out Shell for the lowest prices.

As of Dec. 6, Illinois gas costs an average of $2.29 per gallon, while the U.S. average sits at $2.43.

Most of the cheapest gas in Illinois is in the Champaign area, save for a couple stations further north. The Costco in Mettawa has gas for $1.92 while the Food4Less in Crest Hill and the Naval Exchange at Naval Station Great Lakes have gas for $1.94.
