Christmas 2020 Grocery Store Hours: Anton's, Jewel, Sunset Foods

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — Christmas is likely to look different this year as millions of Americans opt to stay home, marking the holiday with smaller celebrations amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Smaller celebrations, however, don’t necessarily mean we’ll bypass holiday traditions. And when it comes to Christmas dinner, a pandemic is certainly unlikely to stop us from forgetting that one key ingredient needed to make a perfect holiday meal.

Have no fear — there are some grocery stores that will be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for those emergency and last-minute shopping trips from Highland Park and Highwood. Due to COVID-19, most retailers have delivery or curbside pickup options.

Here are the hours for grocery stores that will be open around town, along with a list of those that won’t:

Anton's Fruit Ranch: Open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve, then closed until Feb. 1

• 300 Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park

Costco: Most stores will be open limited hours Christmas Eve, and all stores will be closed Christmas Day. Call ahead to confirm hours with your local store.

• 2900 Patriot Boulevard, Glenview

CVS: Most locations are open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Christmas Day.

• 1539 Clavey Road, Highland Park
• 2000 Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park

The Fresh Market: Stores will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Christmas Eve. All stores are closed Christmas Day.

• 850 N. Western Ave., Lake Forest
• 3232 Lake Ave. at Edens Plaza, Wilmette

Foodstuffs: Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Closed Christmas Day.

• 338 Park Ave., Glencoe
• 255 E. Westminster Ave., Lake Forest

The Grand Food Center: Open from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Christmas Eve, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Christmas Day and from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Boxing Day

Heinen's: Open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Closed Christmas Day.

Jewel-Osco: All locations close at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve; last home delivery/curbside pickup 3 p.m. Closed Christmas Day.

Lakeside Foods: Open normal hours from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

• 800 Elm St., Winnetka

Mariano's: All stores will close at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve and remain closed Christmas Day.

Sam’s Club: Stores will be open until 6 p.m. Christmas Eve and closed Christmas Day.

Sunset Foods: Stores will be open until 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day.

Target: Most stores will close at 8 p.m. Christmas Eve. All stores are closed Christmas Day.

• 2099 Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park

Trader Joe’s: All stores will close at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve. Stores are closed Christmas Day.

• 127 Skokie Blvd., Northbrook

Walgreens: Selected locations are open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Christmas Day. Call ahead to confirm hours with your local store.

Whole Foods: Most stores will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Christmas Eve. All stores are closed Christmas Day.
