2018 New Year's Babies Born At North Shore Hospitals

Less than an hour into the year, Highland Park Hospital reported Lake County's first baby was born.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — Lake County's first baby of 2018 was born at NorthShore Highland Park Hospital less than an hour into the year, as a Waukegan couple welcomed a baby boy at 12:50 a.m. on Monday.

The first babies born in Lake Forest and Evanston followed a few hours later.

Vincent Manuel Regalado-Perez, at 6 pounds, 7 ounces, was born to Aliza Regalado and Jose Perez, according to a hospital spokesperson.

The first baby girl reported born in Lake County in 2018 was at Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital a few hours later.

Allison Kimberly Beltran Zarate, at 6 pounds, 11 ounces, was welcomed by Francisca Nayeli Zarate Gonzalez and Francisco Beltran, also of Waukegan at 3:37 a.m.

Evanston's first baby of 2018 was welcomed to Hanni and Andrew Moses a few minutes later, at 4:03 a.m.

The 7-pound, 3-ounce boy is yet to be named, a hospital spokesperson said, but he and his mom are doing well.
