Former Highwood Police Chief Forrest Grandi Dies at 76

He served on the Highland Park police force for 20 years as well.

Forrest G. Grandi, 76, of Highwood, passed away September 18, 2014.

Born in Highland Park 1937, he served on the Highland Park Police force from 1959 to 1979 where he retired with a rank of Sergeant & Chief of Detectives. He was Police Chief of Highwood from 1981 to 1991 and from 1995 to 2005 he was in charge of the AFIS finger print division of the Northern Illinois Crime Lab. Throughout his police career he was awarded numerous commendations and honors.

Cherished father to Victoria & Angelo; grandfather to April & Jason; loving brother to Jack (Donna). He was preceded in death by his parents Amil & Mary Grandi and a son Michael.

Visitation and the funeral have already been held.
