Highland Park And Deerfield Combine Youth Football Programs
Little Giants football has been revived by a combination with Deerfield's Young Warriors.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — Highland Park's Little Giants youth football program is returning this year by combining with Deerfield's Little Warriors program for students in grades 3 to 8. The park district ceased operating the program last year after fewer than a dozen boys signed up for tackle football.
The cooperative effort to revive the program resulted from the combined efforts of David Lindquist, the 2004 HPHS grad who was named high school varsity coach in April, Highwood resident Terry Leske, who helps operate and coach for the Young Warriors, and Park District of Highland Park officials, Pioneer Press reported.
There are currently about 65 kids registered for the program, Leske told the paper, with 60 percent coming from Deerfield and 40 percent from Highland Park. They will be divided up in into three teams – third and fourth graders, fifth and sixth graders and those in seventh and eighth grade.
