Highland Park Election Results: Stone, Lidawer, Tapia Lead Race
Newcomers Annette Lidawer and Andres Tapia are poised to join incumbent Kim Stone on the Highland Park City Council.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — Polls are closed in Highland Park following contested races for City Council and Park District of Highland Park Board of Commissioners.
Voters chose three councilmembers from among six candidates and two new park commissioners from among three hopefuls.
There will be two new faces on the Highland Park City Council next month after incumbent councilmembers Daniel Kaufman and Alyssa Knobel decided not to seek reelection.

According to early unofficial results from the Lake County Clerk's Office, Councilwoman Kim Stone, Annette Lidawer and Andres Tapia led the race for City Council.
Among the candidates for City Council was a sitting park commissioner. That left two newcomers and one incumbent vying for three available six-year terms on five-member Park District of Highland Park board.

Incumbent Brian Kaplan secured reelection as a park commissioner, while Jen Freeman was elected to the seat being vacated by City Council candidate Lori Flores Weisskopf, according to the unofficial results.
There were no contested school board races in North Shore School District 112 or Township High School District 113.
(Note: Provisional and late-arriving vote by mail ballots counts are not included in the unofficial results above. Late arriving mail-in ballots are counted 14 days after the election.)

Jami Bay is the owner of a yogurt shop and property management firm and a commissioner on the Highland Park Zoning Board of Appeals.
Annette Lidawer is an attorney, former president of the Township High School District 113 board and sitting member of the Highland Park Plan and Design Commission.
Kim Stone is an environmental advocate and two-term incumbent Highland Park councilwoman. She is the only incumbent
Andrés Tapia is a diversity and inclusion strategist and member of the Highland Park Housing Commission.
Yumi Ross is an architect and former North Shore School District 112 board member.
Lori Flores Weisskopf works in business development for a multinational shipping company and two-term Park District of Highland Park commissioner.

Joe Peddle is former owner of an event and disaster power temperature control business who was involved in the restoration of Stupey Cabin
