Highland Park Rollover Crash Sends Lake Forest Woman To Hospital

Police are investigating how the 82-year-old motorist flipped over her car Thursday afternoon on Green Bay Road.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — A one-car rollover crash in Highland Park sent an 82-year-old Lake Forest woman to the hospital on Thanksgiving.

Police and firefighters were dispatched to a crash at Green Bay Road at Stonegate Drive around 12:15 p.m. Thursday, according to a city spokesperson.

They found a red crossover SUV that flipped on its roof with its interior airbags deployed. It had heavy damage to its passenger side and had lost its front right wheel.

Rescuers were able to open the door and pull out its one occupant, who had suffered injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening. She was responsive and in stable condition when firefighters took her to a local hospital, the spokesperson said.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation Friday.
