Highland Park To Welcome O.A.R. And American Authors At Ravinia
Part of the Mighty O.A.R. tour, O.A.R. and American Authors will perform at Ravinia Pavilion in Highland Park on Aug. 30.
HIGHLAND PARK, IL — O.A.R. and American Authors are coming to Highland Park on August 30, and tickets are now on sale for the concert at Ravinia Pavilion. Part of the Mighty O.A.R. tour, the iconic rock band will be performing alongside American Authors of "Believer" and "Best Day of My Life" fame.
O.A.R. boasts a 20-year career with such chart-topping songs as "Love and Memories," "Shattered" and "This Town." The band (short for Of A Revolution) is known for its extensive summer touring, including sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden and Red Rocks Amphitheater. Their latest show promises to deliver fan favorites and songs from the band's ninth and latest studio album, "The Mighty."
O.A.R. will be joined by pop-rock group American Authors, who will perform songs from their hit albums, "Oh, What a Life" and "What We Live For." The band is renowned for putting on a show and has appeared at an array of popular music festivals including Lollapalooza, SXSW Music Festival, Freakfest, and Firefly Music Festival.

The Mighty O.A.R. tour promises to wow Highland Park for a night at Ravinia Pavilion on August 30 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now, with general admission starting at $36. Use the promo code "PatchTickets10" for 10-percent off at checkout.
All five O.A.R. members will be on hand for the show, including lead vocalist Marc Roberge, guitarist Richard On, Benji Gershman on the bass, drummer Chris Culos, and Jerri DePizzo on sax and guitar. The Maryland quintet will also be joined by Mikel Paris on keyboard and percussion as well as trumpet and backing vocals by Jon Lampley.

The name of the album and tour was inspired by Richie Sambora, who called the band "The Mighty O.A.R." when introducing them at the Red Rocks Ampitheatre several years ago. "The term wraps up who the band is in 2019," adds DiPizzo. "It feels good to us." The group's main goal is to make showgoers leave feeling better than when they came, and the upcoming Highland Park performance promises to do just that.
