HPHS in ParadICE Raises Nearly $7.8K For Special Olympics
Team members sponsored by Rotary Club also took the polar plunge in Lake Bluff.
The “HPHS in ParadICE” team sponsored by the Highland Park/Highwood Rotary Club raised nearly $7,800 for Special Olympics Illinois prior to their polar plunge in Lake Bluff on Sunday.
Since it was too dangerous to jump into Lake Michigan, members of the team - including many Highland Park High School students - did jump in to two pools made of freezing water.
Team coordinator Melissa Zientara noted that the team was one of the highest raising groups in the entire state.
