HIGHLAND PARK, IL — Resurfacing work on Skokie Highway in Highland Park will require nightly and weekend lane closures and daytime shoulder closures starting Monday between Chantilly Boulevard and Park Avenue West, the Illinois Department of Transportation announced.

The Route 41 lane closures are scheduled to take place between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., according to IDOT. Concrete patching will take place during two extended weekend lane closures in late July.

The work is expected to be finished by the end of November. Motorists should allow extra time for trips through the area and be ready for possible delays in both directions, IDOT said in a release. Drivers should pay close attention to flaggers and signs in work zones and stay alert for workers and equipment on the roadway.

Farther north on Route 41, Highland Park city officials announced in April that contractors were starting work on repairs to the culvert headwall on the east side of Route 41 just north of Parkside Drive. Most of the work is scheduled to be performed at night, with a work zone speed limit in place. That project is expected to be completed by the end of October.
