Live Comedy Is Back At Madame Zuzu's Teahouse In Highland Park

Funnier By The Lake Comedy returns to Madame Zuzu's Teahouse, in the Ravinia Business District of Highland Park, Friday, November 11th with a free showcase of professional stand-up comedians. Madame Zuzu's is an eclectic, and definitely funky venue owned by Smashing Pumpkins founder, Billy Corga
"The Zuzu's shows are the only live stand-up comedy in Highland Park, and they are really fun to produce," says Funnier By The Lake Comedy's, Larry Bloom, who produces FBTL comedy showcases throughout Lake County, and performs regularly in Chicago and the suburbs. "Madame Zuzu's is small, so it fills up quickly, and the audiences have been great. They arrive ready to laugh, and we bring the funny," added Bloom.
All of the FBTL comedy showcases at Madame Zuzu's are free to attend. There is no cover charge, leaving audience members with extra cash for the sandwiches, treats and the vast selection of teas for sale at the venue, as well as merchandise from the individual performers.
Funding for marketing the showcases and paying the performers is provided by corporate sponsors. The November 11th event is sponsored by ATI Graphics, Inc. (www.atigraphics.com), of Highland Park and Improv Playhouse (www.improvplayhouse.com), of Libertyville and Highland Park.

Producer Bloom always strives to create lineups with diversity as well as an equal number of men and women performers. The November 11th show features local and regional comedians, including Highland Parker and show producer, Larry Bloom, and Highland Park native, Peter Lipsey. All of the comedians can be seen performing regularly in the city, the suburbs and throughout the country.
The November Funnier By The Lake Comedy show at Madame Zuzu's opens with a short, live acoustic set by local singer/songwriter, Jonathan Root.
