Local teens, Zach Silver and Tyler Horberg, distribute grants
Highland Park High School Seniors Zach Silver and Tyler Horberg created and managed a local small business relief fund to distribute grants
Teens who created a GoFundMe for struggling Highland Park businesses were able to complete their first round of grants in August of 2020!
An application process was used to determine who receives a grant and specific questions were asked such as the impacts of COVID-19 on day-today operations. All forms were reviewed by the Small Relief Fund committee and determined through Zach and Tyler.
Zach and Tyler were able to get their first round of checks for the recipients out on Sunday. The first grant went out to Inaum Salon in Highland Park (located on Deerfield Road). Following Inaum Salon, a grant was distributed to Max's Deli. Be sure to check out their location and support them as well!

Each recipient of a grant was awarded with their check and a kind message regarding how important their business is to our local community.

Zach and Tyler plan to continue the application process in the near future awarding more grants of up to $200.00. Although not a large sum, these local teens are fighting to support local businesses any way they can--one grant at a time.
