NSSD112 School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Highland Park is August 23. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The North Shore School District 112 has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/21 - 8/22: Institute Days
• 8/23: First Day of School, Early Release

September

• 9/1: Early Release
• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/21: No School (Rosh Hashanah)

October

• 10/6: Early Release
• 10/9: No School (Fall Break)
• 10/10: No School for Students (Institute Day)
• 10/27: First Quarter Ends

November

• 11/10: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/20 - 11/21: No School for Students, Parent-Teacher Conferences (12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.)
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving)

December

• 12/1: Early Release
• 12/18 - 1/1: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/2: School Resumes
• 1/12: Early Release
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)
• 1/19: Second Quarter Ends

February

• 2/16: Early Release
• 2/19: No School (Presidents' Day)
