Northfield, Skokie, Wilmette and Winnetka police have all closed exits into their communities in recent days, in some cases requesting Illinois State Police to enforce the ramp closures.

Highland Park Police Chief Lou Jogmen said Highland Park police officers handled local road closures, which he said were ordered to allow police to better allocate resources elsewhere.
