Readers Name Norton's Best Burger In Highland Park Area

Norton's took the top spot in our survey of Highland Park Patch readers, who were also keen on Abigail's, Beinlich's and BWB Rocks.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — We asked Highland Park Patch readers last week to share their recommendations for the best burgers in the area.

The results are in, and one spot emerged as the clear reader's favorite.

Norton's Restaurant, 1905 Sheridan Road in Highland Park, had the support of almost a quarter of the approximately 100 respondents to our unscientific survey.

Highland Park Patch readers praised Norton's "High quality meat cooked perfectly each time" and "Amazing presentation always the way you requested it."

"The burger itself is amazing, but the atmosphere to enjoy it in makes it that much better," one reader said.

"Great meat, bun, and sides, tastes like it just came off your Dad’s grill," said another. "Don’t miss the tater tots"

Described as "The Cheers of Highland Park," Norton's was founded in 1999 by childhood friends and North Shore natives Richard Holleb and Jeffrey Mages, according to a 2017 Daily North Shore profile. Mages launched the original Irving's For Red Hot Lovers in Wilmette and at one point owned 13 locations.
