Stanley Cup Champ Brent Sopel Joins Special Kids Network Fundraiser To Support Mental Health Awareness
STANLEY CUP CHAMP BRENT SOPEL JOINS SPECIAL KIDS NETWORK AT LOFT 21 FOR "LIGHT UP THE NIGHT" FUNDRAISER TO SUPPORT MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS

Deerfield, IL – On Friday, October 27, Special Kids Network will ”Light Up the Night” by hosting a special fundraiser to help change the stigma of mental health conditions. Proceeds from the event will benefit the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Cook County North Suburban Affiliate, and Mental Health Association Greater Chicago (MHAGC).
The event will take place from 7 to 11 pm at LOFT 21, 1501 North Milwaukee in Lincolnshire (formerly Cubby Bear North), a new event and performance space with an industrial vibe and ultra modern design. The fundraiser will include entertainment, food and beverages, live auctions and unique raffle items. A highlight of the evening will be a special guest appearance by Brent Sopel, Chicago Blackhawks 2010 Stanley Cup Champion, whose own inspirational story is helping others who are experiencing mental illness.
"Like many people, my life has been directly affected by suicide and those who suffer from depression and mental illness. Mental health awareness is critical, and our event will educate people and raise money for an important cause," said Chad Coe, President of Coe Financial Group and Founder and President of Special Kids Network, a nonprofit organization originally created to fund programs that help children and young adults with special needs.
