Contributing to the home's elegance, Marci took classes there in order to landscape in a way that "respected the land's unique beauty," according to a 2014 newsletter from the garden, which suggested many of the home's decorations were acquired at Botanic Garden events.

“My personal aesthetic is to be surrounded by beauty,” Marci told Sheridan Road. “I find creative inspiration that way.” The couple also owns homes in Florida and Chicago, according to a 2017 profile in the magazine. Now that their children have moved out, they're ready to part ways with their Highland Park dream home and find an peaceful spot on a lake somewhere.

Their Emerald Woods Lane home was first listed in May 2017 for $3.65 million. Last November, its asking price was reduced to just below $3 million. According to the Lake County assessor's office, its total market value is $2,073,213.

Local school districts for its Highland Park Acres neighborhood include Sherwood Elementary, Elm Place School and Deerfield High School.
