HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
STOLEN BIKE
Someone stole a $1,000 Alva brand bicycle from outside the Walgreens store at 655 Elm Place around 10 a.m. on March 10 while its owner was inside the store shopping. The bike, which may have been unlocked, was described as black with white stripes and thin tires.
STOLEN CAR
Someone stole a blue 2018 Nissan sedan shortly before 5:30 a.m. on March 12 after its owner left it unlocked with the engine running in the parking lot of the Shell gas station at 1411 Park Avenue West.

REPEAT BATHROOM VANDALISM
Someone pulled a heater off a bracket in a bathroom at the Central train station, 1700 St. Johns Avenue, where it was found hanging off the wall on the morning of March 12. The heater was found damaged a second time on the afternoon of March 15.
TOOL THEFT
Someone stole two pairs of pruning shears worth a combined $80 from an unspecified business located at 1510 Old Deerfield Road prior to 10 a.m. March 14.

CAR BURGLARIES
- Someone stole a wallet, cash and gift cards from an unlocked Jeep SUV parked in the 800 block of Virginia Road prior to 6 a.m. March 14.
- Someone stole about $1,000 worth of tools from the trunk of an unlocked Toyota van parked in the 800 block of Virginia Road prior to 6 a.m. on March 14.
- Someone burglarized an unlocked Infiniti SUV in the 2800 block of Lexington Lane East during the night of March 17 or early morning hours of March 18.
SHOPLIFTING
- Two people stole two bedding items valued at nearly $214 from the Target store at 2099 Skokie Valley Road prior to 5:30 p.m. on March 16.
- Prior to 7:15 p.m. on March 16, someone stole more than $500 worth of over-the-counter medications and cosmetic products from the Walgreens store at 632 Roger Williams Ave.
- Someone stole various boxes of laxatives and an unknown number of vitamin drinks from the Walgreens, 632 Roger Williams Ave., at some point prior to 6 p.m. March 21.
ARRESTS
Deon Malik Madden, 19, of the 38200 block of North Loyola Avenue, Waukegan, was arrested around 4:30 a.m. on March 9 and charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon — possession of a handgun by someone under 21, unlawful use of a weapon — no Firearm Owners Identification card, not having a conceal carry permit and having above the legal amount of cannabis in his possession following a traffic stop on a car he was driving at Park Avenue West and Skokie Valley Road. Officers also issued him citations for no taillights and unlawful use of weapon. The passenger in the car, Deonte Rashawn Gregory, 19, of the 500 block of North Sheridan Road, Waukegan, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful use of a weapon and fleeing or attempting to elude police.
Bryan J. Beckner, 33, of the 1900 block of South Finch Court, Libertyville, was arrested around 2 a.m. on March 11 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident following a hit-and-run traffic crash near Skokie Valley Road and Park Avenue West. Officers reported he rear-ended another vehicle and fled the scene before he was found in Libertyville and arrested. Officer also issued him a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
Jordan A. Wexler, 39, of the 100 block of Pointe Drive, Northbrook, was arrested at his home around 9:30 p.m. on March 12 and charged with violation of an order of protection after police determined he had made contact with a protected person via social media and email.
Christian Gomez, 22, of the 200 block of Orbiter Driver, Round Lake, was arrested around 3:15 .am. on March 14 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and unlawful use of cannabis by a driver following a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Skokie Valley Road. He was also issued citations for illegal transportation of an open container of alcohol by a driver and illegal stopping or standing.
Luis D. Rodriguez, 25, of the 1800 block of Hartrey Avenue, Evanston, was arrested around 4:15 a.m. on March 14 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a breath alcohol concentration of 0.08 or more following an investigation into a two-car crash near the intersection of Ridge and Half Day roads. He was also issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
Robert Wyatt, 52, of the 8800 block of Knight Avenue, Des Plaines, was arrested around 11:30 p.m. on March 18 and charged with driving under the influence of drugs following an encounter with police at an unspecified location. He was also issued citations for failure to display a driver's license, blocking the flow of traffic and improper lane usage.
Dora M. Cruz-Colon, 59, of the 1700 block of North Artesian Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 7 p.m. on March 19 and charged with driving under the influence of drugs or a combination of drugs following a traffic stop in the 2500 block of Skokie Valley Road.
Latricia B. Nesbit, 26, of the 2000 block of Alta Vista Drive, Waukegan, was arrested around 3 a.m. on March 22 and charged with driving under the influence of drugs, unlawful use of cannabis and speeding 35 mph or more above the limit following a traffic stop near the intersection of Deerfield and Skokie Valley roads.
Edwin L. Feliciano, 31, of the 1500 block of Hillcrest Avenue, Hanover Park, was arrested around 4:30 a.m. on March 22 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop at Park Avenue West and Skokie Valley Road.
