Woman Hospitalized After Highwood Man Allegedly Committed Home Invasion, Battery In Highland Park
Highland Park police say Benjamin Lopez-Sayago kicked in the door of a residence and hit a woman in the 300 block of Bloom Street April 23.
A 41-year-old man wanted for kicking in the door of a residence in Highland Park and kicking and punching a woman repeatedly last month has been arrested.
Benjamin Lopez-Sayago, 41, of the 0-100 block of Webster Avenue in Highwood, was charged with home invasion causing injury, two counts of domestic battery and one count of criminal trespass to residence.

The Highland Park Police Department said that Lopez-Sayago kicked in the door of a residence in the 300 block of Bloom Street in Highland Park on April 23.
Lopez-Sayago kicked and hit a female victim with a closed first, police and court documents said.

The victim was transported to Highland Park Hospital for medical treatment. The extent of her injuries is unknown.
A Lake County judge signed a warrant for Lopez-Sayago’s arrest on April 24, the day after the incident.

Officers with the Highland Park Police Department arrested Lopez-Sayago on May 3, police records show.
A Lake County judge ordered Lopez-Sayago held in the Lake County Jail on a $300,000 bond. He would need to post 10%, or $30,000 cash, in order to be released.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 25.
