2 Boys and a Woman Hurt in Boat Accident Friday

One child was airlifted to a northwest suburban hospital.

A boat-and-tubing accident on the Fox River near Cary injured a woman and two boys Friday evening. Two 12-year-old boys were riding in a tube pulled by a boat when the craft made a U-turn, causing the tube to strike another boat. The tube and the boys landed in the second boat, injuring a woman inside, reports the Chicago Sun-Times, citing a McHenry County sheriff’s deputy.

The accident happened at about 6:30 p.m. One boy and the woman sustained minor injuries and were taken to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. The other boy was airlifted to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. He may have suffered a broken leg.

The Daily Herald reports that the accident happened near Spring Beach Park in Cary.
