Bullets Found At Huntley High School, School Placed On Lockdown

Students were kept in their classrooms while Huntley police investigated the finding of two bullets inside Huntley High School.

HUNTLEY, IL - Huntley High School was placed on lockdown Friday morning so police could investigate the origin of two live rounds of bullets found on school property. The bullets were found by a student in the hallway outside of the school's College and Careers Office, according to Huntley High School Principal Scott Rowe.

The purpose of the lockdown was so police could have "a controlled environment" to investigate. The lockdown meant student movement between classrooms was not allowed.

"No individuals will be allowed in or out of the building. Please do not come to the school to pick up your child. No one will be allowed in or out of the building during the lockdown," Rowe wrote in a memo posted on the District 158 website. "Blended students should remain off-campus for remaining classes and will be excused for absences."
