GoFundMe Made For Family Of Huntley Man Who Died In Lake Incident

HUNTLEY, IL — Loved ones of a Huntley man who died Monday after a paddle boat capsized in an Arlington Heights Lake are raising money to help his family. A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family of 44-year-old David Fournier, in an effort to help with funeral costs and other expenses. According to the Daily Herald, Fournier died after saving his 3-year-old son, his wife said.

Authorities in Cook County identified Fournier just hours after he was pulled from Lake Terramere Monday, given CPR and taken to Northwest Community Hospital, where Arlington Heights police said he was pronounced dead.

Fournier is described on the GoFundMe page as "a wonderful husband, father and friend." More than $8,000 of a $10,000 goal has been raised as of Thursday morning.

Arlington Heights police and fire department crews responded at 3:30 p.m. Monday to the 4000 block of N. Terramere Drive at the lake after several residents called 911 to report a paddle boat had capsized, leaving several people in the lake, according to a release. Police said everyone who had been in the boat made it out of the water. A preliminary investigation determined there were no signs of criminal activity and no foul play is suspected, as his death appears to be a tragic accident.

A second adult and two children who were on the boat were evaluated at the scene and released, according to a release.
