Huntley Police: Investigation Continues into Multiple Thefts of Kitchen Appliances
Police report six incidents since beginning of April.

Stealing a refrigerator or stove seems like a Herculean effort that would go noticed by someone, but a burglar, or burglars, has gotten away with some of those big items in a series of Huntley home burglaries.
Six burglaries in uninhabited homes have been reported since the beginning of April, Huntley Deputy Chief Michael Klunk said. The burglaries have occurred in numerous subdivisions including Georgian Place, Sun City and Wing Pointe, he said.

Most of the items missing were large appliances, he said.
Because the homes were vacant, there isn’t a lot of activity aside from legitimate realtors, contractors and appraisers, Klunk said. “We also don’t have a time frame on the burglaries, which may occur during the day or night,” he said.

Huntley investigators are working with other police departments that have had similar cases and information has been released to agencies in the region, he said.
Huntley police always seek information from the public on suspicious or out of the ordinary situations and ask that in-progress incidents be reported to 911 so officers can respond immediately, Klunk said.
