No Injuries Reported After Car Smashes Into Smoothie Storefront In Huntley
A 75-year-old woman drove her car into the entrance of Tropical Smoothie Cafe on Route 47 in Huntley Tuesday morning.
No injuries were reported but repairs are needed after a 75-year-old woman drove her car into the front of a smoothie restaurant in Huntley on Tuesday.
The Huntley Police Department and the Huntley Fire Protection District responded around 9:25 a.m. Tuesday to the Tropical Smoothie Cafe, 12162 South Route 47, for a report of a car that struck the building.

Huntley Deputy Police Chief Michael Klunk said a 2017 Ford Escape was found to be partially into the building.
The driver, a 75-year-old Huntley woman, told officers that she had slid in the parking lot, went over the curb and struck the front of the business.

Klunk said no citations have been issued and the driver did not report being injured.
It is unknown how many customers or employees were inside the store at the time of the crash but none of them were injured.
The building was determined to be structurally sound but the front entrance was barricaded pending repairs to the entrance area.
