Top 10 Illinois Cities with the Biggest Change in Violent Crime
The top 10 cities with the biggest decrease in violent crime, as well as the 10 with the largest increase between 2012 and 2013.
Between 2012 and 2013, more than half of Illinois cities with more than 10,000 residents saw violent crime decrease, according to FBI data.
We compared the most recent available data from the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report (UCR), broken down by city, for the most recent two years for which data is available. Chicago was not included in the analysis as the city’s data collection methodology does not comply with national UCR guidelines.
Here are the top 10 cities where violent crime decreased the most, as well as the 10 that experienced the largest increase.
