The 57-year-old's vehicle was struck from behind, causing it to hit a utility pole.

BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, IL — A 57-year-old Hampshire woman is dead and a 28-year-old DeKalb man was injured after an early morning crash in Kane County. Police say a Ford Fusion driven by 57-year-old Cindy Fromas was heading west on Plank Road near Romke Road at around 1 a.m. Sunday when "for an unknown reason" it was rear-ended by a Kia Optima.
The impact of the crash caused Fromas' vehicle to hit a utility pole. Fromas was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Kane County Sheriff's Office.
The driver of the Kia, identified as Kyle Luebke, was taken to an Elgin hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
